Swetha Raju, founder of NephroNourish
About

Hi, I'm Swetha Raju — the patient and researcher behind NephroNourish.

I started here the way a lot of my readers do — with a diagnosis, a confusing food list, and not enough answers. CKD at six years old has made nutrition feel less like a lifestyle choice and more like a survival skill. By the time I got to Columbia, I already knew what it felt like to be on the wrong end of the research-to-plate gap. Knowing the science and knowing how to live with it are two very different skills. I built NephroNourish around that distance.

NephroNourish is where my clinical and research work lives — peer-reviewed publications, video abstracts, NKF peer mentorship, and one-on-one consulting, all grounded in the renal nutrition space. It's for patients, caregivers, and clinicians who want the evidence without losing the human side of what it means to navigate CKD, autoimmune nephritis, dialysis, or transplant.

The clinical and the everyday aren't as separate as they look — the same rigor, the same translation problem, the same purpose.

Whether your question comes with a diagnosis or not, you're in the right place. The goal is the same across all of it: make the research clearer, kinder, and actually useful for whoever needs it.

"Better science should mean better days. Most people don't need more information to get there — they need someone to make it mean something."
